Reykjavik (Iceland) - "Reykjavik Marathon". The Reykjavík Marathon is one of Iceland's biggest and most celebrated running events, held every year in Reykjavík, the country's capital. It attracts thousands of runners from all over the world, thanks to its scenic routes, cool weather, and festive atmosphere. The Reykjavík Marathon has been held annually in downtown Reykjavík since 1984. In recent years, the marathon has taken place on the same day as Reykjavík Culture Night, which is celebrated in Reykjavík on the Saturday closest to the city's anniversary. The Íslandsbanki Reykjavík Marathon will take place on the 22nd of August, 2026. The Reykjavík Marathon offers three race distances: 42.2 km, 21.1 km, and 10 km, along with a fun run that includes a 3 km and a 1.7 km route.
