San Diego, California (United States of America) - "America's Finest City Half Marathon". America's Finest City Half Marathon is one of San Diego's fastest and most scenic half marathons. The 49th annual event will run from the Cabrillo National Monument atop the tip of Point Loma, along San Diego Bay, Harbor Island, Embarcadero, past the Star of India, through downtown San Diego to an unforgettable finish in historic Balboa Park. America's Finest City Half Marathon and 5K is a part of In Motion Events' SoCal Triple Crown race series, which also includes the Carlsbad Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K in January, and the GOVX San Diego Half Marathon and 5K in March. This trio offers a variety of courses and scenery throughout San Diego, providing athletes with a fun and unique running experience in distinct parts of the city and county. Athletes who participate in each race in the same calendar year, no matter the distance they participate in, will be awarded a SoCal Triple Crown medal to celebrate their accomplishment of completing the race ser ies. Runners simply register for all three events separately. No additional registration or fee is required to qualify for the SoCal Triple Crown finisher award! Benefiting the Community Since its inception in 1978, the America's Finest City Half Marathon has helped raise important funds for national and local non-profit organizations. Laramie, Wyoming (United States of America) - "Med Bow Rail Marathon and Half Marathon". The Friends of the Medicine Bow Rail Trail host the Med Bow Rail Marathon & Half Marathon. The races showcase the beautiful Medicine Bow Rail Trail and provide a unique high-elevation racing experience. The marathon course covers the Rail Trail from end-to-end and averages 8,926 feet in elevation. The trail is a gently graded, wide, gravel path. Marathon participants follow the course through two states (the trail briefly dips into Colorado after starting just north of the State line) and finish at a serene mountain lake. The half-marathon course mirrors much of the northern portion of the marathon course, making two loops around Lake Owen with the remainder of the course on the Rail Trail. Course maps are available on the event web page. All race proceeds fund trail upkeep and improvement, and the races are intended to promote use of the trail. The event provides a fun and safe way to experience the trail, both competitively and non-competitively. The races are open to all-comers. The races are timed and fully staffed at 5 aid stations, with a start/finish area at Lake Owen, near Albany, WY. All participants receive a race t-shirt. Morgan, Utah (United States of America) - "East Canyon Marathon". The East Canyon Marathon has four distances. Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. The Full Marathon starts overlooking Salt Lake City at the Big Mountain Pass at the top of Emigration Canyon and heads East. This course follows along pine trees, aspens and follows several miles along the East Canyon Reservoir. The Full joins Half Marathon about 3/4 around East Canyon Reservoir where the Half Marathons starts and then heads down Red Rock Canyon which has great views and landscapes and unique rock formations. Around Mile 20 of the race the course turns into farmland with beautiful fields of grain and cool barns.
